Diane Porterfield-Bourne – Nurse Practitioner Specialising in Menopause

Diane holds her professional registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council. She is a member of the British Menopause Society, the International Menopause Society and the Royal College of Nursing. She obtained her BSc (Hons) degree as a generic Nurse Practitioner in 2006 and has run her own business; Bourne2care since 2013.

Diane qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1988 and has travelled far and wide. She worked predominantly within Emergency Departments before returning back to the UK. She has always been involved in health education and in 2005 was a finalist in the Nursing Times Awards for Promoting Health in the Community. Most recently Bourne2care received Certificates of Registration from the Care Quality Commission. 

Her interest in menopause began when she identified a huge lack of knowledge and support around menopause. She read Government policies, worked with leading menopause experts, undertook menopause courses and became an Independent Nurse Prescriber.

She will continue to support menopause within the workplace; has written and presented a full menopause educational programme within the NHS; as well as implementing menopause champions and supports other health professionals within Europe. Diane is often asked to present with businesses and also is menopause expert working for Holland & Barrett.
