ANTI-WRINKLE CONSULTATION

At Shropshire Aesthetics patient safety is our priority. We use only Allergan anti-wrinkle injectable, and it is performed only by Registered Nurse (NMC registered) who is a highly experienced.

Nurse Helen will be able to adjust the dose and positioning of your Allergan anti-wrinkle injections to give you the result you desire. This will be discussed with you before treatment and means you have the choice of removing all movement or you can have it injected in a way that does not freeze the upper face entirely. Nurse Helen can also adjust eyebrow position to lift or arch brows for a injectable brow lift or give more brow symmetry.

Nurse Helen can also use anti-wrinkle injectables to treat other concerns such as using gummy smile injections to reduce the look of an overly visible gum line, Masseter injections which slim the jaw and aids teeth grinding, or to stop excessive underarm sweating.

What are Anti-wrinkle injections?
Our anti-wrinkle injections involve injecting small quantities of Toxin into specific muscles using a tiny needle; this smooths lines and wrinkles by stopping the muscle from moving. As the muscle no longer contracts to cause crease lines, it creates a natural softening to dynamic lines and wrinkles and gives you a natural, fresh, and rejuvenated appearance.

While this muscle relaxant is working, these lines cannot get any deeper as you are not repeatedly creasing the skin, which is why people often have this treatment to prevent the formation of wrinkles.

Anti-wrinkle injections are the treatment of choice to smooth lines on the upper face but do not work to smooth lines on the lower face. For lines on the cheeks, between nose to mouth, lines on the top lip, or marionette lines - dermal filler or polynucleotides are the best treatment option for these areas.

Antiwrinkle injections is regarded as being safe and has been used to treat tens of millions of patients worldwide for both medical and cosmetic reasons over the past two decades. It is recognised as a medicine and is used widely in the NHS to treat medical issues such as irritable bladder, muscle contracture and spasms in much higher doses than we use it for cosmetically and as it is not a new treatment, we have long-term data on its safety profile.

Result’s will typically last for 3 – 4 months (however individual factors apply and some clients get a longer or shorter duration than this) The treatment is not painful as ultra fine needles are used.

It is a quick, easy, and very effective treatment with little or no recovery time.

What does having Anti-wrinkle injections involve?
Anti-wrinkle injectable is aNurse-only treatment. Your first step will be to book a consultation with Nurse Helen. On the day of your consultation, Helen will explain the treatment and advise if it is suitable for you. She will also recommend other treatments that you may benefit from.

Helen will also be able to recommend which skin care products will work best to enhance your anti-wrinkle injection result. Providing there are no contraindications, and after the consultation, you wish to go ahead, Helen will them book you an appointment for you to come back another time to have the treatment.

If you wish to go ahead, consent will be taken, and pre-treatment photography will be accepted. Photography is strictly confidential and is used for legal reasons so that we may compare the photograph to one which will be taken at your follow-up appointment. This will enable us to assess how you respond to anti-wrinkle injectables, which will help us establish the correct dose for you.

The treatment is not very painful as the needles we use are very fine. You will have a series of injections into the area you are having treated; the injection time is very quick and takes only around 10/15minutes. Immediately after, there will be small marks / tiny lumps on the face where the product has been injected; they will go down after around 10 minutes.

We will be able to apply a cover-up to the area, which is approved and will not cause infection, but you should not apply any of your products (including makeup) over the area treated for at least 6 hours. Your aftercare advice will be given – do not apply any makeup to the site for 6 hours, avoid exercise for 24 hours and avoid any blood thinners, including alcohol, for 24 hours.

You will be booked for a follow-up appointment in 2 weeks for a review if required.
